Eurasian Natural Resources Corporation/Boss Mining, DRC.

ENRC/Boss Mining has ordered and taken delivery of over three thousand three hundred Senninger CMS Wobbler rotary sprinklers and CMS pressure regulators for their copper heap leaching operation in Southern DRC (Democratic Republic of the Congo).

The CMS Wobbler is a unique emitter/sprinkler manufactured from high grade industrial thermoplastic by Senninger Irrigation of the USA, originally for the agricultural market, but adapted for specialised industrial and mining applications. It has proved to be very effective in the application of aggressive liquids such as H2SO4 (sulphuric acid) and cyanide solutions for the removal of copper and gold residues from mined ore bodies.

The unique feature of the CMS Wobbler is that it only has one moving part and has a high distribution coefficient of uniformity. It delivers a relatively large droplet thereby reducing drift and evaporation of chemical and limiting contamination of adjacent areas. This not only ensures a saving by reducing losses of expensive chemical by evaporation and drift, but also is more environment friendly than some of the other equipment used for distributing the leaching solution.

In order to ensure a uniform distribution, Senninger pressure regulators are fitted to every Wobbler in the grid. These regulate flow to each Wobbler by governing pressure, irrespective of pressure fluctuations from the pumping plant or varying heights of leach pads.

Because they only have one moving part, the Wobbler is maintenance free and has proved to be very reliable. They are manufactured from a specially adapted plastic polymer material which is not affected by the harsh corrosive chemicals being used in the process.
